Noni Vs.
Lewis Lung Carcinoma. In 1994, scientists from the University
of Hawaii conducted a study on live laboratory mice that had
been injected with Lewis Lung Carcinoma cells. Untreated, the
mice died in 9-12 days after injection from tumor growth.
Some of the injected mice were treated with Noni in five separate
daily treatments. The mice that received the Noni significantly
increased their life span from 105% to 123%, with 9 of the 22
mice surviving for more than 50 days! Researchers concluded
that "Noni seems to act indirectly by enhancing host immune
systems involving macrophage and/or lymphocytes. The research
shows that Noni is not just effective for Lewis Lung Carcinoma,
but that Noni may enhance the entire immune system. What ever
your immune system is fighting, Noni may help your immune system
to do it better!
In 1971, Dr. R.M. Heinicke at the University of Hawaii, discovered
a new alkaloid that he named "xeronine" Noni was discovered
to be very high in xeronine and an excellent source which is
the key to why Noni seems to do just about everything. The doctor
explains that xeronine is an important alkaloid that is also
found in human tissues and it stabilizes proteins. Since all
enzymes are made of protein, if you lose xeronine from your
tissues, your enzymes begin breaking down at an excessive rate
and they can't perform as they normally should.
NOTE:
Noni juice can be taken together with all other medications
- there are almost no negative interactions. In some situations,
Noni can allow other medications to act more efficiently. You
should tell your health professional that you are taking Noni
juice, as your physician might want to decrease the dose of
the medication prescribed. This often reduces the side effects
from the original medication.
Reported side effects were minimal. Less than 5% experienced
minor belching, loose stools, allergy, or developed a mild rash.
The belching disappeared when the dose was decreased. The rash
and loose stools cleared within 72 hours after stopping treatment.
Noni has been reported safe for pregnant and/or nursing mothers.
